Cancer support

More than 1 in 3 people will develop cancer during their lifetime, and it can affect people of all ages. However, people with a cancer diagnosis are often turned away by therapists, as for many years the myth existed that cancer could promote metastasis of cancer, i.e. cause cancer cells to spread to other parts of the body. Fortunately, research and education have challenged this myth and shown that the disease does not spread through mechanical forces such as massage or exercise.

As a holistic therapist, I would never claim that massage or exercise can cure a patient, but I believe it can make a valuable contribution to their healing. By offering massage and/or exercise tailored to their needs, I can work with clients and support them through this difficult time.

Claudia Hall 07913 238442

As a therapist qualified in oncology and scar tissue massage, I can provide a gentle, nurturing massage to relax mind and body, relieve tension and help improve wellbeing. Trials are continuously being published that support the benefits of massage in reducing some of the symptoms experienced by patients with cancer, such as stress, anxiety, insomnia, pain, fatigue and depression. Clients who are undergoing or have recently finished cancer treatment are advised to contact their GP regarding the benefits and risks of massage prior to therapy.

All new clients will receive a consultation before their first massage. This will help me understand their needs and deliver the best treatment for them. It also enables clients to ask questions or discuss any concerns they may have.
